Annual One-Act Festival
The Annual One-Act Festival is great opportunity for ALL creatives to get involved and show off their talents!
Are you a budding or experienced writer? Write and submit a one-act play! Do you want to try your hand at directing and potential direct a mainstage production in the future? Apply to direct a one-act of your own creation, volunteer to work with a writer to bring their original work to life, or propose a published one-act you would like to to direct (royalty-free preferred)!
Have you always wanted to try acting but feel overwhelmed by a full production? Audition for the one-act festival to perform in a short production with a smaller time-commitment. Want to get behind-the-scenes technical theatre experience in lighting, sound, stage management or crew? The Annual One-Act Festival is a great place to learn!
Call for Playwrights and Directors
The Indiana Players' 14th Annual One-Act Festival is coming up and we are currently looking for original one-act scripts and directors!
Writers: If you are interested in submitting an original one-act, please email the script to this year's One-Act Festival Coordinator, Sam Sherburne, at artisticdirector@indianaplayers.com. We are looking for pieces roughly between 5 - 25 minutes in length.
Directors: If you are interested in directing one of the original one-acts or have a royalty-free one-act you would like to direct, please email Sam Sherburne at artisticdirector@indianaplayers.com In your email, please include your interest as well as any past theatre experience, if any.
This is a great opportunity for new and first-time writers and directors to gain experience. The deadline for submission for both writers and directors is Saturday, February 15th.
Auditions will be held Monday, March 24th, and Tuesday, March 25th, from 6-8pm at the Philadelphia Street Playhouse. Performances will be Thursday, April 24th, to Sunday, April 27th.
