A Point Of Order

by Ed Simpson

Directed by Sara Steelman

September 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, & 23

Set in the small town of Randolphsburg, PA, A Point of Order is a satirical comedy about the efforts of a small committee to publicize their struggling borough by celebrating the town’s most nearly notable son, astronaut Dr. Dick “Doc” Davidson, with a statue and a ceremony to dedicate it. Unfortunately, most of their fellow townspeople are unenthusiastic about the idea, and when the committee learns that their treasurer has skipped town leaving them $15,000 in debt, desperate measures are clearly necessary. How far will the members of the committee go to convince Buck Drum, the richest man in town, to rescue them? And how far will Buck try to manipulate them to amuse himself? The answers to these questions make for a darkly funny play.
